same take, new faces
Pick a live Tiny Desk-style take and add your photo. The AI puts you in it, keeping the camera work and the original sound. Add up to three photos, or let our own performers fill the other spots.
Your photos replace all three performers of the Outstanding take at once.

the meme
In 2023, Charlie Wilson closed his NPR Tiny Desk concert with The Gap Band’s “Outstanding”. On October 18, 2026, TikTok creator @theburnerfromhe11 posted “College Football’s Week 8 All-Loss Tiny Desk Concert”: AI swapped that weekend’s losing coaches into the last 19 seconds of that performance. It reached roughly 2.3 million views in its first week.
A Dallas Cowboys legends version followed. On TikTok the format is called the “outstanding tiny desk set”, and each new set of faces makes a new version.
Examples are posts by independent TikTok creators, shown with a link to the original. They are not made by this site.

three steps
Choose Outstanding template 1 or 2, then add one clear, front-facing photo. Add up to two more, or leave them empty and our own performers fill the other spots.
Press generate and spend 20 credits. The take, the cuts and the sound are already in place.
A vertical MP4 with the original sound and no watermark, ready for your group chat.
the idea
Outstanding Tiny Desk AI is a template for people who want a specific performance, not a new one. Most AI video tools invent a scene from a prompt. This one starts from a finished take and swaps in the people you choose, so the pacing, the camera work and the energy of the original come with it.
Choose a template and add your photo; add up to two more, or leave them empty and our own performers fill the other spots. In template 1 the AI replaces the three performers at once and keeps their outfits. In template 2 each of the three shots, a wide shot and two close-ups, gets its own new person. Either way the new faces follow the mouth movements of the original performance, so they match the original sound. The result is a short vertical video made to be shared: a birthday gift for a bandmate, a joke for the group chat, or a way to see your characters in a familiar room.
This is not a recording of a real concert, and it is not made by or affiliated with NPR. It is an independent parody tool. Likeness and lip-sync vary from clip to clip, which is why we show you how to prepare the best photos before you spend credits.

before you press go
Outstanding Tiny Desk is a TinyDesk AI template built on one live studio take. You upload your photo (up to three) and the AI puts your people into that take. The camera moves, the cuts, the room and the sound stay the same; only the faces change.
The Record shop template writes a new song and a new set for your three photos. Outstanding Tiny Desk starts from an existing take instead: you get that exact performance, with the same timing and original sound, starring your three people.
Both use the Outstanding song and keep its original sound. Outstanding template 1 replaces the three performers of one 11-second take at the same time: the seated performer at the keyboard in the centre, the performer back left and the performer back right. Outstanding template 2 uses a 15-second take with three shots, a wide shot and two close-ups, and puts a different person in each: the keys player, the lead singer and the saxophonist. Both cost 20 credits and keep the original sound; pick the template in the switch above the photos.
No. Only the first photo is required. Empty slots use our own default performers, so one photo is enough, and you can replace any default with your own photo. Photos go to the roles in order: for template 1 the seated lead, the back-left performer and the back-right performer; for template 2 the keys player, the lead singer and the saxophonist.
Yes, that is the point of the template. The video is rendered silent, then the original soundtrack of the take is added to it, and the new faces follow the mouth movements of the original performance so they line up with the sound. No new song is written. It is AI, so mouth timing can drift slightly from one video to the next.
In template 1 they stay as they are in the take: the outfits and the headphones, with your photo supplying the face, hair and skin tone. In template 2 the person in each shot is replaced as a whole, so clothing can follow your photo. The headphones, microphones and the room stay.
One sharp, evenly lit, front-facing photo per person, with the face clearly visible and no sunglasses or heavy filters. Use three different people or characters, one per photo. Fully fictional AI-generated characters work well too.
The video is vertical 9:16 and runs about 11 seconds (template 1) or 15 seconds (template 2). Either costs 20 credits. Credits come in one-time packs that never expire, with no subscription. Rendering usually takes a few minutes, and if a render fails the 20 credits are returned automatically.
Only photos of adults who have given you permission, or fully fictional AI-generated characters. Never upload a photo of a minor. This is a parody tool: do not use the result to mislead anyone, to impersonate a real person, or in advertising or endorsements.
